The Official Bachelor’s Degree in Design at ESD Madrid is a four-year programme that offers students the opportunity to develop ideas that create impact and drive change, using design as a tool to rethink the visual society around us.

Interior design is a strategic discipline that involves understanding human needs, interpreting social and cultural contexts, and designing environments that promote well-being, improve quality of life, and respond to the contemporary challenges of our society. Interior designers work with form, materiality, light, and technology to create meaningful, functional, and emotionally engaging spaces. Every interior tells a story, actively participates in our daily lives, and becomes the setting where relationships are built, identities are shaped, and futures are imagined. Designing interiors is, ultimately, about designing how we inhabit life.

Our Bachelor’s Degree in Design, specialising in Interiors, prepares you to think about space in a creative, critical, and responsible way, developing an analytical and sensitive perspective that will allow you to understand how design impacts the human experience. You will be trained in rigorous project methodologies and learn how to research, conceptualise, develop, and communicate your ideas. In addition, you will work with contemporary tools ranging from graphic and digital representation to the understanding and application of criteria for selecting and using materials, construction systems, and technical installations. Our teaching combines theory and practice, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, strategic thinking, and innovation. Studying with us means becoming part of a dynamic academic environment where interior design is understood as a transformative practice capable of imagining and building spaces that are more liveable, inclusive, sustainable, and emotionally enriching.

Internships in Companies

Professional internships are a mandatory requirement during the final year of the degree and offer students the opportunity to connect directly with leading companies in the design sector. Through established agreements with a variety of organisations, students can apply their knowledge in a professional environment aligned with their academic training.

Each internship is structured to integrate classroom learning and strengthen professional skills in a real-world context. Tutors and programme coordinators guide the process to ensure that every student finds a placement aligned with their profile and interests, while supervising their progress throughout the experience.
